About the role
As a Senior Full-Stack Engineer, you'll build the platform at the heart of Cloud Numericals. It processes large volumes of cloud cost and usage data, finds savings opportunities, and presents them clearly to customers. You'll work across the stack, from data pipelines and APIs to the customer dashboard.
We're a small team, so you'll have real ownership. You'll shape technical decisions, set engineering standards, and work directly with customers and the success team to decide what to build next.
What you’ll do
Data and backend
- Design, build, and maintain pipelines that ingest and process billing data from AWS, Azure, and GCP.
- Build reliable, well-documented APIs that power the dashboard and internal tools.
- Improve the models and logic that identify rate and usage savings opportunities.
Product and frontend
- Build features in the customer dashboard end to end, from data model to UI.
- Make complex cost data clear and useful through thoughtful visualisation and design.
Engineering quality
- Write tests, review code, and keep the platform reliable, observable, and secure.
- Handle customer billing data with strict attention to security and access control.
- Contribute to architecture decisions, technical standards, and engineering processes.
- Mentor other engineers as the team grows.
What success looks like in your first 90 days
- 30 days: You've set up your environment, learned the codebase and data model, and shipped your first changes to production.
- 60 days: You own a meaningful feature or pipeline improvement from design to release.
- 90 days: You're shaping the technical roadmap and have made a measurable improvement to reliability, performance, or developer experience.
What we’re looking for
- 4+ years of professional software engineering experience, including senior-level ownership of production systems.
- Strong with JavaScript/TypeScript and at least one backend language, such as Python, Go, or Node.js.
- Hands-on experience building and running software on AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Strong SQL skills and experience working with large datasets.
- Solid grasp of testing, security, and operational best practices.
- Clear written communication, suited to a remote, asynchronous team.
Nice to have
- Experience with React or Next.js.
- Background in FinOps, billing systems, or data engineering.
- Experience with data warehouses or analytics engines, such as BigQuery, Snowflake, Redshift, or ClickHouse.
- Experience with infrastructure as code, such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
